Roulette Review

Make money fast by choosing your lucky numbers and keeping your eye on the ball!
Roulette is one of the largest and most frequently played casino games at land based casinos, and has soared in popularity at online casinos as well in recent years. Roulette is basically a wheel with numbers in black or red ranging from 1 to 36 and then, of course, a green number 0.

The aim of the game when playing roulette is to place bets on certain sections, or a number, and hoping that those lucky numbers or sections drop in on the roulette wheel when the ball stops spinning. The odds on a standard roulette wheel for a normal bet on a single number is 35 to 1 This means that If you were to place a 1 pound bet on number 5, and the number 5 is where the ball ultimately lands, you would win a whopping 36 pounds. This is the same with any other amount, so if you were to place a bet of 10 pounds and the number came in that you betted on, you would be winning a total of 360 pounds!

There are lots of different ways to bet on the roulette wheel. Check out this detailed list of options below:

Red or Black

There are 2 sections on the roulette wheel named Red or Black which pay odds of 2 to 1. Each number on the roulette wheel are coloured either red or black (except for the green zero). There are an equal number of red and black numbers on the wheel. If you were to place 10 pounds on black and the roulette ball falls into a black number, you will then be paid 20 pounds in winnings. This is the same if you were betting on red and a red number was to drop in. So, this is a nice quick way to double your money.

Odd or Even

Odd and Even are as they say - and very similar to Red or Black. If you think an even number is going to be coming out on the next spin, then place a bet on the Even section of the table. If a even number is to fall in, just like Red and Black, you will be paid odds of 2 to 1, giving you a return of double your bet. The same goes if it was an odd number you were playing on.

1 to 18 and 19 to 36

1 to 18 is a section which allows you to bet on the low side of the board (except 0). If you think it is going to be a low number between 1 and 18, then you can place your bet on that tab with a return of 2 to1 odds. The same goes if you were betting on the 19 to 36 tab.

1st, 2nd, 3rd Row

These sections pay a total of 3 to 1 odds. If you think a number is going to fall in from a certain row, you can place a bet on that row. For instance, if you were to place a bet of 10 pounds on a certain row and you were correct, you would get a return of 40 pounds! Unfortunately, these rows also don’t include the number 0.

1st, 2nd and 3rd 12th

Similar to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Row, these are 3 big sections on the board that high rollers love to play. All the low numbers on the board are covered by the first 12 numbers (not 0), the 2nd 12th is 13 to 24 and the 3rd 1th is 25 - 36. If you were to place a bet on the first 12th, you would get a return of 3 to 1 odds. The same goes as if you were betting on any of the other 12ths. This is basically a fantastic way to triple your money, with very good odds.

These are the main ways to bet on roulette, but of course, you can also bet on any number individually, or on any number’s corners, sides or columns. It seems a bit complicated once you first start playing, but once you start playing around with different betting techniques and watch how the ball spins and where it lands in what frequency, you will quickly pick up what combination of bets work best for you!

Pro tips:

Make sure to bet on more than one tab or number, this raises your odds and gives you a better chance of beating the casino. If you just bet on one number or tab at a time, it will take a lot quicker to see a substantial amount of winnings and you will have to pump in a lot more money before you start seeing a significant return.
Try to always make a small bet on 0, as you have read above, 0 does count as part of any of the 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 odds, so it is worth it to keep a little money on 0 at all times. When it does pay out, which happens a lot more often than you think it would, you will get a nice return of 35 to 1.
No matter how high the stakes get, or if you feel like you are having an unlucky day - make sure that you stay positive! Roulette is all about having fun and using strategy to hopefully win some money, but at the end of the day, as long as you are having a good time, that’s the only thing that matters.
